Programs and Events

April 25, 2008 - ESS will participate in Washington Weekend (throughout campus April 24 - 26) by holding an Open House on Friday, April 25. Faculty, staff, and students will host various informational and activity events, to include (tentative info) a mineral exhibit from the departmental collections, hands-on demonstrations, resources, information, and activities for K-12 students and teachers, solar viewing (weather permitting), and open labs: Petrology, GIS, Seismology, and Space Physics Advance Propulsion. In addition, public lectures will take place on this day. This information will be updated as plans are finalized.

May 22, 2008 - The annual ESS Awards and Honors Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 22, at 3:30pm (room to be determined). Awards include fellowships/scholarships, research support , field study support, distinguished service, faculty and student excellence in teaching, and recognition of alumni and donors. A reception will be held following the awards ceremony.
