News Phillip Clark Nisbet (BS, 1980, Geology, UW) 49, passed away at his home March 4th, 2006, from heart failure. Phillip was born March 29, 1956, in Fort Benning Georgia, to Andrew and Haroldine Nisbet. He graduated from the American School of AsuncióParaguay. After serving in the US Army for three years, he returned to the University of Washington where he received his Bachelor of Science in Geology. He acquired his Masters in Geology, ABD, at Eastern Washington University. Phillip was a founding member of Formation Capitol Corporation, and was instrumental in finding a cobalt deposit near Salmon Idaho. He later moved to Moscow Idaho where he took part in the development of I Minerals Inc. Over his lifetime, Phillip was a member of several organizations, including the American Legion, Eagles, Republican Central Committee, Tobacco Root Geological Society and the North West Mining Association. Through his writings, research and dedication, Phillip became well known, and highly respected in the geological community. Phillip is survived by his beloved sons, Nathaniel Hart, Aaron Francis and Benjamin Andrew, his ex-wife Marian, his parents, Andrew and Haroldine Nisbet, sister, Gwyneth, and his brothers, Andrew II, and Kevin. He is also survived by Erica Rossomando and many loving nieces and nephews. His memorial service was held in March. A fund has been established for his sons.
